Award-winning Ghanaian gospel artist Joe Mettle has urged upcoming gospel musicians on how to grow financially. He told them that while God is the source of all blessings, it takes wisdom to keep and grow it.

Speaking in an interview with MOG Music, he laid out what he described as a framework for financial growth.
His first charge to young artists was not to focus solely on the kingdom of God. Adding value to oneself continuously, he said, is equally non-negotiable.
He also pushed back gently against the habit of spiritualising everything to the point where practical wisdom gets overlooked. He argued that the Bible itself is full of practical instruction on how to live, earn, and steward resources.
In his view, the same God who gives grace for ministry also gives wisdom to manage what that ministry produces.

Joe Mettle went further, breaking down financial wisdom into three distinct disciplines: the wisdom to make money, the wisdom to retain it, and the wisdom to multiply it. He said too many believers are not poor but they struggle financially because they have not taken the time to seek God’s guidance on how to multiply the resources they have. Wealth, in his words, is a stewardship responsibility, and God expects multiplication from His people.
He drew on the parable of the talents to make the point. He noted that the master in that story did not just give gifts; he expected what had already been given to grow.
Mettle said he applies the same principle to his own life. In his words, he asks God for wisdom each time a resource comes into his hands rather than simply holding it and waiting for the next blessing to arrive.
This message is expected to make upcoming artistes more financially responsible
